Two years ago at the age of 85, I had a major decision to make. Age had taken its toll- as several of my back teeth were extracted, putting stress on my front teeth to facilitate chewing.

Frequent bonding of these front teeth to retain rigidity caused discoloration and misalignment.
I discussed my options with Dr. Viner, my primary care dentist.
One: to live with the current condition,
Two: upper and lower dentures- too messy. I already had experience with these and didn't like the loss of
taste and poor fit,
Three: implants. Dr. Viner referred me to a Periodontal specialist, Dr. Ganeles, who provided detailed graphics, illustrating the various options, which facilitated my decision- a full mouth- six upper and six lower implants.

At one appointment, the teeth were extracted and the implants were placed in my upper and lower jaws. A temporary set of teeth was provided while the implants were being securely anchored in my jaw.

Six months later- following several appointments with Dr. Viner- he installed a permanent handsome set of teeth.

My new teeth attached to the twelve implants are natural looking and attractive, requiring only normal brushing and flossing with periodic professional cleanings.

My chewing function is fully restored with full taste sensations which proves that the quality of life is still available- even at an advanced senior age.
